Khristopher Brooks is a business and education reporter for the Bristol (Va.) Herald Courier, sometimes reporting for its sister TV station, WJHL–TV in Johnson City, Tenn. This photo was taken on the state line between Virginia and Tennessee. A graduate of Central Michigan University, he was a Summer 2006 Chips Quinn Scholar at The Associated Press in Louisville, Ky. Brooks had three years of reporting experience at CMU's student newspaper Central Michigan Life, for which he covered student government, state and national politics and minority issues.
