“This was one of the first signs I saw when I came to Binghamton,” says David Lipscomb, a Spring 2006 Scholar at the Press & Sun-Bulletin in New York State. “The Triple Cities are Binghamton, Johnson City and Endicott, which line Route 17 and Route 17C (Main Street). The Triple Cities are also called the Greater Binghamton Area. There are other towns and villages in the area that are so close together that they’re indistinguishable to people who don’t know the area.”
