Hometown: Wilmington, Del.
College: University of Delaware
Host
newspaper: The News Journal (Wilmington, Del.)
What I
know about my internship newspaper:
The News Journal was founded
in 1785; Gannett acquired it in 1978. It has a circulation of about 116,779
daily and 139,625 on Sundays.
What
I'll be doing at my internship newspaper:
I will be the business/metro
intern.
How I
got interested in journalism:
I became fascinated with
journalism as a young viewer of television, watching “20/20” and “Dateline”
each week with my family. I joined the school newspaper in junior high school
and continued to stay involved with my school papers throughout high school and
college.
What
I'll pack:
I won't need to pack much
because I am from Delaware and will live only a few minutes from the paper. But
I'll be sure to bring a few working pens and a pad of paper because news can
happen anywhere.
What I
do for fun:
I love playing soccer, football
and field hockey, going to the beach during the summer, reading about far-away
places and traveling.
