Welcome to Spring
Special to chipsquinn.org
Posted: Jan. 23, 2007
Thirteen is a lucky number this Spring, as that many journalists have been
named Chips Quinn Scholars.
The Spring Scholars – along with two Scholars from the Summer 2007 program –
are attending a four-day orientation program at the Diversity Institute in
Nashville, Tenn.
The Spring Scholars, who come from 11 colleges, will work at 12 daily
newspapers from Greenville, S.C., to Orange County, Calif.
Their orientation is the first held at the Diversity Institute on the campus
of Vanderbilt University. During orientation, the journalists will hear advice
about developing story ideas, talking with their editors and charting a career
path. They will be joined by six alums, who will speak to the group.
As the Scholars experience orientation, they will share their thoughts and
news in a Spring ’07 blog.
Every CQ class is unique. Learn about past classes from their blogs:
