My First Job ...
Don Flores, executive vice president and editor, El Paso (Texas) Times

Don Flores |
While my first paid job was as a 12-year-old correspondent
who wrote sports stories for the local weeklies, my first
full-time job was as the sports editor of the San Marcos
Daily Record my senior year in college. The job included reporting
on high-school and college sporting events, editing copy,
laying out the pages, pasting up the copy, and, sometimes,
I helped staff the press and deliver the newspapers.

a Scholar.
